Elephants, Donkeys and Ants

We find ourselves having displaced a government managed by a herd of elephants, now being trampled by a pack of donkeys. Is this really change we can believe in? The Donkeys are making the prior regime shine brilliantly by comparison.

The liberal press is spinning and spinning. How else can you make an economic collapse and emerging economic death spiral sound successful? With unemployment growing by hundreds of thousands per week and every major industry now controlled or within the grasp of government, spinning is a tough job. Our current government can best be described as fascist. Those businesses not controlled by government are fleeing as fast as their capital can be exported. As for the government controlled media, spinning fascism requires talent comparable to Joseph Goebbels (born 1897/died 1945). They just don’t seem to be up to the task.

A little education is required. The liberal democrats have been in control of the economy for almost 3 years. This is the Obama, Reid, Pelosi and Frank depression. George Bush is partially at fault because he did not employ the power of the veto and bully pulpit to stop or challenge the destruction of our economy. Such destruction was appropriately timed to coincide with the presidential election. I don’t think President Bush was fully ware of the shenanigans being undertaken by Barney Frank, et al. , shame on him.

Blame is fun, but we must get back to the central point, change we can believe in is not being trampled by a pack of donkeys. The problem with our political process is that it leaves us, the ants, with only 2 choices. Is it better to be trampled under the feet of elephants or under the hooves of donkeys? I am not in favor of either. The culmination of 3 years of economic disaster under the leadership of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and Frank is far worse than under George Bush. The economy has been shattered and its core is being scattered like a billion crumbs blown by a horrible wind.

What is a country to do? Bring on the Ants; three hundred and ten million ants. Ant power… To clean up this mess requires the focused deliberate strength of each and every ant. The role of government should be to empower us the people/ants to rebuild our economy. Ant power will not only prevail, but will produce a set of solutions so well balanced individually and collectively, that even the most arrogant ass or petulant pachyderm will be envious. Three hundred and ten million ants will best any pack or heard animal with ease.

The ants can and will bring vibrant life back to our economy in as little as a year. Empowerment will require:

1) end all payroll taxes effective immediately
2) moratorium on capital gains taxes effective immediately
3) freeze all government spending at 2008 levels
4) eliminate all energy taxes effective immediately
5) phase in an alternative energy plan that is not tax based
6) phase in a federal sales tax to replace any revenue needed after the economy is running vibrantly

The ants will create businesses, investments, and jobs. Manufacturing will rekindle. Wealth and affluence will return.

We can deal with the social impacts/issues after the economic engine is capable of powering the desired changes.

Ant power.. power to the ants .. power to the people.

Just say no to asses and pachyderms you meet.

Hi,

I really liked your ants and elephants article, the last part I am confused about. Increasing the sales tax I heard always hurts the poorest ants the most, becasue they have the least ammount of money and have to buy survival goods, and so the people with the least ammount get a big hit. I do not know what Federal sales tax is, so i imagine i have this mixed up.

A federal sales tax is a retail tax on goods sold. Currently, we tax labor, workers, ants. As a percentage of tax base these leaves only the few "workers" to carry the load. Once you no longer earn your income as salary or wages you are exempt from payroll taxes. These taxes and their corporate matching taxes are inherently the most regressive. As our citizens age, the baby boomer sometimes with 3-5 million in assets earns a larger percentage of our GDP. This income is tax free. Similar for illegals and under the table income.
